About Ana

Ana M Gomez, MC, LPC was born in Colombia (South America) and she is a psychotherapist in private practice in Phoenix, Arizona. She works with children and families affected by trauma. Ana speaks nationally and internationally on the topics of trauma, attachment, dissociation and the use of EMDR with children and adolescents. Ana has served as a practicum supervisor at the Educational Psychology Department at Northern Arizona University. She has been a presenter in several occasions at the EMDRIA conference and she was an invited preconference speaker at the 2008 EMDRIA conference. Ana is an EMDRIA approved consultant. She is a facilitator for the EMDR Institute, a specialty presenter on EMDR with children and an EMDR-HAP trainer. Ana is the author of ”Dark, Bad Day...Go Away", a book for children about trauma and EMDR. In addition, Ana is the creator of “The Thoughts Kit for Kids” which is part of a series of games and tools designed to make EMDR treatment developmentally appropriate for children. In addition, Ana has written two EMDR protocols for children that are included in the book “EMDR Scripted Protocols: Special Populations” Edited by Dr. Marilyn Luber.
In addition to helping children and adolescents Ana also specializes in working with adults dealing with issues of depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, complex PTSD, grief and loss.
